Meet The Blogger – Amber Page

Starting from this week, I’m going to be featuring several Bloggers on my blog. Why? Because we are a great community and it is nice to get to know one another.

The first blogger to be featured is Amber from The Unpredicted Page.

Tell me a little about yourself and why did you start your blog.

Hey everyone! My name is Amber, and I am a 20-year-old student studying Accounting and Finance. I started my blog at the start of April 2020 when we were 2 weeks into lockdown. I wanted something to get stuck into and something that I could enjoy. So, I created The Unpredicted Page where I write about life advice, health and beauty and blogging tips.

What is your blog about?

As I mentioned earlier, my blog is about life advice, health and beauty and blogging tips. The life advice section includes everyday advice, money tips, my best baking recipes, travel tips and university advice. In the health section I talk about skincare, healthy living, and beauty. Finally, in the blogging section I talk about everything I have learnt so far that could help new bloggers

Is there anything you realised about blogging once you started? Something that you had no idea about before.

I had no idea Pinterest was so important! For my first month of blogging I just saw people talk on Twitter about how they were getting blog views from Pinterest and I had no idea what they were on about. I cannot believe I didn’t see anything about it when I did my research before hand about starting a blog! I ended up investing in a course about it because I just could not find enough free information. I was very reluctant about investing money in myself so soon after starting blogging but I am so happy I did and I really recommend you do it if you are new.

What is your favourite and least favourite thing about blogging?

My favourite thing is the blogging community on Twitter. Every question I have is answered by someone on Twitter. Everybody is so supportive and helpful. The Twitter Blog Comment Threads on Twitter are absolutely amazing as well. They are a great place to increase your own engagement as well as finding other bloggers. When you are successful, everyone is happy for you, there is so little hate. In fact I don’t think I have seen any hate on Twitter.

My least favourite thing about blogging would be falling into a slump. I don’t get this too often but when I do it can be really hard to find the motivation to keep going.

What goals do you have for your blog that you hope to achieve?

My biggest blogging goal would be to reach 25k sessions a month and be able to sign up for mediavine. I would absolutely love to monetise my blog and be able to make a bit of money from it.

Is there any post that you wish to feature? Can you tell us a little about it?

One of my favourite posts I have written is my 5 ways to make money online without paying anything (I made £300). I know the struggle when you are searching online the best ways to make money but the useless survey sites show up. I got so much good feedback from this post saying that it actually really helped people.

Apart from blogging what other hobbies do you have?

As I am currently a student, I have had plenty of spare time to work on my hobbies. I regularly go for runs and attend the gym I love keeping fit and trying to work on myself to improve my health. I also love painting. I have recently been getting into paint by numbers which have been really fun.

Alright, now time for some quick questions:

What is your Current Read? : Ps. I Love You

Which was the last movie/TV show you watched?: I haven’t watched any movies recently that I can think of so the series I am watching is Once Upon a Time.

Which was the last song you listened to?: This City by Sam Fischer

What is your favourite colour?: Pink!
